Chief Engagement and Equity Officer
Nakia Kyler joins WMPC as our first Chief Engagement and Equity Officer. Ms. Kyler has exemplary experience that includes marketing, fundraising, and interacting with a variety of stakeholders to increase engagement and meet strategic goals.
Ms. Kyler comes to us from Bethany Christian Services as the Global Director of Philanthropy where she both secured large gifts to ensure the safety and protection of vulnerable children around the world, and integrated strength-based storytelling in marketing campaigns. Ms. Kyler’s time at the Susan G Komen foundation allowed her to increase awareness within the African American community and highlight the strengths of Women of Color who were disproportionately affected by breast cancer.
After earning a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Michigan, Ms. Kyler began her career in the Alabama’s Governor’s office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives where she served as a liaison to key federal, city, and local stakeholders to develop a three-year strategy to expand volunteerism and address critical needs impacting local communities.
