Reunification Day on WGVU Morning Show with Shelley Irwin

Our CEO, Kristyn Peck, was featured on Shelley Irwin’s morning radio show to talk about Reunification Day. This will be Kent County’s first celebrated event to honor families who have successfully reunified after experiencing the foster care system. The event, held at John Ball Zoo, will consist of a short program including “Hero Families” sharing their personal stories of reunification; a keynote by Supreme Court Justice Megan Cavanagh; community resource tables; and kid-friendly entertainment. Following the program, guests will have the opportunity to explore the John Ball Zoo and will be provided free passes valid for seven days.

This event was made possible through collaboration with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Kent County’s 17th District Court- Family Division, and our five partner agencies (Bethany Christian Services, Catholic Charities West Michigan, D.A Blodgett St. Johns, Samaritas and Wellspring Lutheran Services). This event is sponsored by the John Ball Zoo, who is graciously providing a picnic dinner for all guests.

Due to the limited space, this will be an invite-only event, but email us at info@wmpc.care to see if there are spaces still available.
